'In the Name of the Sisterhood' goes to Sloan's House

A unique exhibition on women's Orangeism is being launched at the “Museum of Orange Heritage”, Sloan’s House, Loughgall, on Wednesday evening, 8 March 2023, most appropriately “International Women’s Day”.


The exhibition, entitled ‘In the Name of the Sisterhood’ will run until late Summer.


The exhibition focuses on the history of Women’s Orangeism goes back to before the formal creation of the first Women’s Lodge in 1800 and this exhibition traces the history of the Women’s Orange Lodges in Ireland and throughout the world.


It highlights the opposition and support that women have had to have their voices heard and to achieve representation alongside their Orange brethren.


Admission to Sloan’s House is free, but donations are welcome. Group bookings can be made by ringing 028 3889 2048.

The Museum is open during March from 10am to 3.30pm, Thursday to Saturday; and then from April, same hours, Tuesday to Saturday.


Evening bookings can be facilitated by arrangement.
