Periscope Tour of the Museum

Members of staff took part in a live video tour of the Museum of Orange Heritage at Schomberg House in Belfast. The tour was carried out using the app ‘Periscope’. Periscope is available for Android and iOS devices and you can follow both the Museum of Orange Heritage and the Orange Order on this app.

The tour was led by David Scott, our Education Outreach Officer who guided us through the reception area up to the main exhibition space. This gave viewers a sneak peek as to what they should expect when they come to visit us. The tour was then taken over by Dr. Jonathan Mattison, Curator of the Museum of Orange Heritage, who guided viewers around the rest of the exhibition space.

David Scott finished up the tour by showing the Temporary Exhibition Room, Lodge Room and Education Room.

The Periscope app allows followers and viewers to watch live videos carried out by the Museum and the Orange Order. During the viewing you can also comment and show appreciation for the videos.

Some photos below are of today’s broadcast and it is hoped that this will create further interest in people coming to view our new museum and facilities!
